I ran into these guys at one of the Job Fairs that come to town. After meeting with them twice, I came away feeling that something wasn't right. What clinched it for me was my advisor's explanation about how the interview process worked. She was adamant that the name GCM never be used when approaching would be employers. Why's that? Does it speak to their track record?

They charge you no less than $5200. Then they write for you "marketing documents" that nobody reads. You send those documents yourself to companies you like and then it's also up to you to cold-call executives and upper-level managers of those companies. These executives are nearly impossible to reach and they don't care for your documents anyway -- they send the docs to HR, and HR doesn't read them either for various other reasons. You sign a contract with Global Career Management which says your fee is not refundable. All they want is for you to sign the contract. After that all you can do is cost them time and money, so they have no incentive to work hard for you. The hard work will still be all yours, as though you never paid the money.
